I started to freak out, trying to figure out who I should call. First, I thought of my assistant manager of the complex but thought it was a bad idea since she doesn't live in the complex any more. Then, I decided to call the complex's After Hours. I tried to remain as calm as possible to tell them that a pipe busted and I needed help. The guy was such a jackass. He didn't try to understand what I was saying, so I hung up on him after repeating myself five times. I automatically called Becky to have her call the After Hours for me. By then, I was freaking out and couldn't calm down. It took a couple of repeats and for me to calm down. Becky called and then she called me back to let me know that somebody was coming. She asked if she should come down *she lives like five minute away from me* and I told her yes, it was bad.
While waiting for Becky and a person from maintenance to come in, I opened my front door *in case I didn't hear the person knock*, and tried to figure out how to turn off the water. I knew there was a way, but I didn't know how! Becky and the supervisor came in at the same time. By the time, my entire kitchen, dining room, small parts of my bedroom, and living room was flooded. My feet were completely covered by water.. and I have small feet.
Becky decided that my cats and I were going to spend the night at her place. We didn't realize how bad it was and wouldn't find out 'til the morning. They had to use blowers for 24 hours to dry the floors, relace the carpets after the 24 hours, and replaced carpeting in two of my closets with vinyal. I had to stay with Becky for three nights, four days. I'm so thankful for her. I wouldn't know what I would do without her!
I came home after the fourth day, on Wednesday, my place was still a diaster. I had atleast three holes in the walls, my kitchen was a freaking mess *they didn't clean up after themselves*, my TV stand was broken, and I have mold in my walk in closet.
The following Monday, Tuesday, everything is finally set and done. I have no more mold, the holes are fixed and covered, and my place is normal. That was the LONGEST week anda few days ever. My cats were finally happy to be home and back to normal. I never, ever, want to go through this again.
There ya go, my latest adventure.. fun stuff huh?
